I have been doing readings for 35 years, and have been practicing astrology for over 15 years. I am currently a member of the American Federation for Astrological Networking, the National Council for Geocosmic Research, and American Tarot Association (for whom I have acted as an advisor). I have been a frequent lecturer at the New York Theosophical Society (where I formerly served on the Board of Directors), as well as at esoteric conferences in the New York/New Jersey area. You and I will work together to personalize your astrological consultation. I generally prefer to start a new client with a natal horoscope. This examines the positions of the signs and planets at the time of your birth, and sets a context for your life, and therefore for subsequent readings. Subsequent readings include daily transits (tendencies during a given day), lunar returns (tendencies during a given month), and solar returns (tendencies during a year, starting around your birthday). For someone entering his or her 30’s, a Saturn return, giving the transition of youth to adulthood, may be in order. For those considering entering a relationship, or bringing an existing relationship up a step, a synastry reading (the birth date, place, and, if available, time of the partner is necessary) often gives a lot of useful information. Finally, Horary and electional readings can be useful in answering specific questions. Other types of readings are possible; please call for details.
It is best to have your date, place, and time of birth. If you don't have a birth time, natal, synastry, and electional readings are still possible, although they will be less detailed. An approximate birth time (morning, afternoon, evening) is still quite useful. If you do not have this information, Horary readings (using the current sky to answer specific questions) can still be performed.
The basis of astrological readings is the horoscope, a view of the heavens from the point of view of the Earth at a given moment, such as your birth. Most modern astrologers (as do I) agree that the positions of the stars and planets have no direct effect on humanity or individuals. There is a basic underlying connectivity of all things, and the positions of the stars and planets are indicators rather than causes of the forces in our own lives. In an astrological consultation, we can examine one or more appropriate horoscopes, to determine how you can best proceed to attain the goals you wish to achieve, even goals of which you were not previously aware. I provide several different forms of detailed consultations, depending on what your needs are. One week advance notice is needed for detailed consultations. An audio recording of your session can be made (CD or electronic file format, such as mp3), at your request. While I prefer giving these readings at the Quest Bookshop on Tuesday or Thursday afternoons, they can be scheduled for other times. Note that there is a discount for readings done by phone or Internet audio/video..
This is the most common form of reading done today for individuals. It also provides a baseline for many other readings. The horoscope is taken at the moment of birth, and gives the basic parameters for your life. Included is a chart of your natal horoscope, my notes., and a one hour consultation. I will need your birth date, place, and, if available, time. This reading gives an outline of your full life, including your strengths, your weaknesses, advantages you can work with, and problems you either have overcome or need to overcome. Included is a printed chart, a printout of my complete notes, and a one hour consultation. Please note that an appointment must be made at least one week in advance of the actual reading to allow sufficient time for preparation. The fee is $200 ($150 by phone/Internet).
These are based on horoscopes taken at the time when certain planets return to the position they were in when you were born. They are useful for seeing what the challenges and advantages awaiting you in the future will be. A solar (Sun) return is good to get around the time of your birthday, as it looks forward one year. A lunar (moon) return looks to the next month, and is useful if you are concerned about how best to deal with upcoming events. A Saturn return (which occurs about every 30 years) is useful in the years immediately surrounding your 30th or 60th birthdays, for long range life plans. Additional returns can be performed; call for details. Included is a chart, a printout of my complete notes, and a one hour consultation. For $300 ($225 by phone/Inernet) you can have your natal chart plus a detailed current forecast or the return of your choice done at the same time. The consultation time is about 2 hours; otherwise, it is identical to the two readings. The combined reading can be split into two sessions at no extra charge.
A reading for compatibility; usually couples, but can also be relevant other relationships, such as business partnerships, close employees, and parent/child relationships. It is often done when one wants to start a relationship, or is thinking about bringing a relationship to the next level. It shows the areas of compatibility, problems that can be resolved, problems you will have to live with, stresses, and advantages. Included is a chart, a printout of my complete notes, and a one hour consultation. Note that an appointment must be made at least one week in advance of the actual reading to allow sufficient time for preparation. I will need both birth dates, places, and, if available, times for both parties. The fee is $325 ($250 by phone/Intenet).

These are readings which take about half to three quarters of an hour, including analysis. The following readings are by phone or videochat. The fee is $60 per half hour (after an initial 5-10 minute preparation period for which there is no charge).
If you have one or more specific questions, I provide Horary readings. These are performed by analyzing the horoscope of the question itself, rather than the person asking the question. For centuries, when accurate birth dates and times were not kept, this was the most common form of astrology, and can be extremely effective. After discussing the questions, I will spend approximately 20-30 minutes analyzing the question. I will then rejoin you with a copy of the chart and my notes, and we will go over the answers. If the answers are not what you would prefer, I will include, if you would like, a short Tarot reading to see how to best deal with the results. Note that this is considered to be a half hour reading even if it goes over.
Electional readings are useful when you are planning something important, and would like to find the best time and/or date for the event to take place. While your birth information can give additional insight, it is not necessary. Upon getting the details, I spend approximately 20-30 minutes in analysis. I will then rejoin you with a copy of my notes, and will spend about 15 minutes discussing the results with you. Note that this is considered to be a half hour reading even if it goes over.
I can examine the relation between the planets when you were born (I will need your birth date, place, and, if available, time), and, by comparing them to the current positions, provide insight into what is happening in your life right now. This normally involves about a half hour consultation.
These are customized computer generated reports, and do not normally include a consultation. Birth dates, places, and, if available, times are needed. No appointment is needed, but you can make one if you like. While personal readings involve weightings of influences, analysis of themes and patterns, and resolving conflicting information, these are useful as well, especially the forecasts. Birth date(s), place(s), and, if available, time(s) are needed. The Horoscope Chart is $5; all other reports are $20 in electronic (word processor or PDF) format, $25 if printed. A printed horoscope of whatever time and/or place you want; usually birth. For those who are familiar with astrology, it can be customized for your own preferences. These are useful if you want to perform your own interpretations, and include a chart, a legend for the symbols, and a grid of aspects for easy reference. If you come in while I am at the Quest Bookshop on Tuesdays or Thursdays, you can have your natal chart (without an interpretations report) printed, free of charge.

For couples, it is an analysis of what each member brings to the relationship, and what the relationship will mean to that person. Also covered are the strengths and weaknesses of the relationship, the information to know to make the relationship work, or decide if you want the relationship to work. I have been reading Tarot cards for over 35 years; while I am primarily consulting in astrology, I am also available to do Tarot readings. My rate is $50 for half an hour, $100 for an hour and $40 for 20 minutes; there is a one hour minimum for in-person appointments, except on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons at the Quest Bookshop) There is a 2 hour minimum for parties.
